Root Rakes

Root rakes and root rake grapples are designed for land clearing, brush removal, root and debris cleanup, soil preparation, and material handling. Grapple models add clamping capability for securing and moving brush, roots, and debris.

Ripping It Outdoors offers root rake attachments for mini skid steers, skid steers, compact tractors, tractors, loaders, and excavators, including standard root rakes, root rake grapples, clam-style grapples, and heavy-duty models.

Available widths range from approximately 31" to 140", depending on the machine and attachment. Compact models include narrower rakes for mini excavators, while larger excavator and dozer models are available for demanding land-clearing applications.

Hydraulic requirements vary by model. Common skid steer root rake grapples range from approximately 5–35 GPM, including models such as EIP at 8–30+ GPM, Virnig at 15–25 GPM, and Brown Extreme Duty at 20–35 GPM.

Excavator root rakes are available for machines ranging from approximately 2–50+ tons, depending on the model. Teran and JMA options cover multiple excavator classes, making it important to match the attachment to the machine's operating weight and mounting specifications.

Choose based on machine type, operating weight or horsepower, hydraulic flow, attachment width, mounting system, and the type of clearing work. For compact tractors and smaller machines, consider narrower models; for heavy land clearing, larger excavator, skid steer, tractor, or dozer models may be more suitable.
