Star Industries Root Grapple Bucket | Models 170-66 To 170DG-84 | Size 66" To 84" | 8 To 30+ GPM | For Skid Steer

DESCRIPTION

Tackle brush, logs, rocks, storm debris, and other bulky materials with the Star Industries Root Grapple Bucket, a heavy-duty skid-steer attachment engineered for demanding cleanup and material-handling applications. Available in 66-inch, 72-inch, 78-inch, and 84-inch widths, these root grapples combine rugged steel construction with independently operated hydraulic grapple cylinders for improved load control on uneven or irregular materials. Curved grapple tines help reduce the risk of catching utility lines and cables during storm cleanup, while the separated bottom tines allow dirt and smaller debris to sift through when handling rocks, brush, and trash. Built-in cylinder and fitting protection, protected grease zerks, heavy-duty welded hydraulic cylinders, and included flat-faced couplers provide dependable operation in demanding environments. Choose Heavy Duty or Demolition Grade models to match your skid-steer or track-loader application.

Key Features

  • Heavy-Duty Root Grapple Construction Built for demanding skid-steer applications, the Star Industries Root Grapple features rugged steel construction designed to handle brush, logs, rocks, storm debris, and other bulky materials while providing dependable performance and long service life.
  • 66–84 Inch Working Widths Multiple grapple bucket widths make it easier to select the right attachment for your skid-steer loader and material-handling needs. Available models include 66-inch, 72-inch, 78-inch, and 84-inch configurations.
  • Independent Hydraulic Cylinders Two hydraulic grapple cylinders operate independently, allowing the jaws to adjust to uneven, irregular, or unbalanced loads for improved material control and more efficient handling.
  • Curved Root Grapple Tines Upward-curved grapple tines are designed to help prevent the attachment from catching utility lines and cables, making these skid-steer root grapples especially useful for storm cleanup and debris-removal work.
  • Separated Bottom Tines The open tine design allows dirt and smaller material to sift through while retaining larger rocks, logs, brush, and debris, helping operators sort and move material more efficiently.
  • Demolition Grade Options DG models feature enhanced construction for more demanding applications. Demolition Grade root grapples are especially recommended for track-style skid-steers and machines rated at 70 HP or 3,500 lbs. capacity or greater.
  • Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Cylinders Each model uses 2-inch x 10-inch x 1-1/2-inch welded hydraulic cylinders to provide controlled grapple movement and reliable clamping performance during material handling.
  • Protected Hydraulic Components Built-in covers help protect hydraulic fittings and cylinders from debris and jobsite impacts, supporting reliable operation when working around brush, logs, rocks, and construction debris.
  • Flat-Faced Couplers Included Hydraulic hoses and flat-faced couplers are included, helping simplify connection to compatible skid-steer auxiliary hydraulics and reducing the need to source essential hydraulic connection components separately.
  • Protected Grease Zerks Grease zerks are protected with tubes to help shield lubrication points from damage during demanding attachment operation, supporting easier routine maintenance and long-term durability.
  • High-Volume Grapple Capacity Depending on model, grapple capacity ranges from 15.8 to 21.9 cubic feet, providing substantial space for gathering and transporting brush, logs, rocks, and other bulky materials.
  • Heavy Steel Grapple Tines Heavy-duty models feature 1/2-inch grapple and tine construction, while Demolition Grade models use 9/16-inch grapple construction for added strength in demanding material-handling applications.
  • Versatile Cleanup Attachment Designed for storm cleanup, land clearing, brush removal, debris handling, rock cleanup, and material management, the root grapple provides a versatile solution for skid-steer and loader operators.
  • Auxiliary Hydraulic Operation The root grapple requires auxiliary hydraulics for operation. Hydraulic actuation gives operators direct control of the grapple jaws for securely gathering, clamping, and moving irregular loads.
  • Built for Skid Steer Loaders Designed specifically as a skid-steer root grapple attachment, the lineup provides practical width and capacity options for compatible skid-steers and track loaders handling demanding cleanup and material-moving tasks.
