Virnig Skid Steer Mulcher

The Virnig V70 Drum Mulcher is a high-flow skid steer attachment designed for land clearing, forestry mulching, vegetation management, brush removal, stump grinding, and site preparation. It can process trees and vegetation up to 14 inches in diameter and mulch up to 2 inches below grade, making it suitable for clearing dense vegetation and producing a fine mulch finish.

The V70 Drum Mulcher is available in two models: the DRM60 with a 60-inch cutting width and the DRM72 with a 72-inch cutting width. Their overall widths are 73 inches and 85 inches, respectively. The DRM60 offers greater maneuverability in tighter working areas, while the wider DRM72 can process more material per pass.

Both DRM60 and DRM72 models require 30–50 GPM of high-flow hydraulic power. They are designed for high-flow skid steer loaders, with a recommended loader operating capacity of more than 2,800 pounds. Customers should verify their skid steer's hydraulic flow, operating capacity, and attachment compatibility before purchasing.

The V70 Drum Mulcher has a 14-inch cutting capacity and a maximum cutting depth of 2 inches. Both the DRM60 and DRM72 use an 18-inch drum, with the DRM60 equipped with 34 teeth and the DRM72 with 38 teeth. This configuration is designed for processing trees, brush, and vegetation while also supporting below-grade mulching and stump-grinding applications.

The V70 features an 18-inch Quadco® drum, fixed or variable-speed bent-axis piston motor options, interchangeable steel and carbide teeth, AR400 bolt-on skid shoes, an adjustable push bar, and a replaceable AR400 wear liner. It also includes anti-wrap drum plates, an adjustable bottom bite plate for controlling material discharge, and a rear chain curtain to help reduce debris thrown toward the loader and operator.

Choose the DRM60 when maneuverability and working in tighter spaces are important. The DRM72 provides a wider 72-inch cutting path and can process more material per pass, making its additional width useful for larger clearing areas and heavier vegetation work. The DRM60 weighs approximately 2,735 pounds, while the DRM72 weighs approximately 3,010 pounds, so the carrier's operating capacity should be considered when selecting a model.
