SIMRAD MF90 Omni Sonar

The Simrad MF90 is a medium-frequency 360-degrees omni-sonar developed for efficient fish-finding. By means of a highly efficient composite transducer and high-end transceiver electronics you can transmit and receive in the frequency range of 75 to 85 kHz.

With the newly developed components used by the MF90 you are able to achieve high resolution on longer ranges. You can also tune the operating frequency to better detect or avoid noise sources such as another echo sounder.

The Simrad MF90 uses the latest "Winson" software. This unique software platform is common for all Simrad sonars. It allows you to present the various sonar echoes in separate views, and these can be placed on separate display monitors. Another great feature with the new software is its ability to "ping" all the beams simultanously. This increases the ping rate, and thus offers a more frequent update of the sonar echoes in the views.

The new composite transducer developed for the SImrad MF90 is more complicated to manufacture than traditional transducer, and we have made large investments to our production capacity. Today, we have one of the most sophisticated transducer production- and design departments in the industry.

HT20470 SONAR PROCESSOR UNIT

A dedicated maritime computer is provided with our sonar systems. We refer to this computer as the Processor Unit.

The Processor Unit is a rugged and powerful computer. It is designed for long life in a demanding maritime environment. The Processor Unit contains the operational software, and offers the user interface that allows you to control the sonar system. Furthermore, it offers a number of serial and Ethernet lines for communication with external devices. The Processor Unit is normally mounted on the bridge.

The HT20470 Processor Unit is available in two versions. The DC version operates on +24 VDC while the AC version operates on 100 to 240 VAC. A power supply is required if a DC powered unit needs to work from an AC supply.

NOTE : The Processor Unit does not contain any fans. It will be very warm, even during normal operation. This is by design. Airflow around the unit will significantly increase the effect of the heat sinks and thereby also the lifetime of the unit. Such an air flow is highly recommended. The computer has been tested and verified with ambient temperatures up to 50 degrees Celsius. A lower ambient temperature is however positive for the its lifetime.
