DESCRIPTION

The Baumalight MX960R and MX1160R Brush Mulchers are powerful mulching tools, each with a 60” rotor. Designed for excavators from 18 to 33 tons, the MX960R features double carbide-tipped teeth for effective vegetation management and stone handling. It’s powered by a piston motor and includes root rake ripper teeth for rocks and logs. The body is made of high-strength AR400 steel with replaceable wear plates.

The MX1160R, tailored for up to 33-ton excavators, enhances performance with mulcher rings, boosting efficiency while reducing tooth holder breakage. It utilizes 31 sharpenable planer teeth for larger materials, and like the MX960R, it includes aggressive root rake ripper teeth and a robust AR400 steel body.

• Path and Rotor Width: Both models feature a 90" path width and a 60" rotor width, suitable for 18-33 ton tracked excavators and 21-36 ton wheeled excavators.
• Holder and Cutting Style: The MX960R uses double-tipped carbide cutting style with 38 cutters (R9000 teeth), while the MX1160R utilizes sharpenable planer teeth with 31 cutters (P11000 teeth).
• Construction and Durability: Both models are built with low-weight, high-strength AR400 steel, ensuring durability and efficiency, along with replaceable wear plates.
• Performance Enhancements: The MX1160R features unique performance-boosting mulcher rings, enhancing speed and efficiency while reducing tooth holder breakage.
• Root Rake Ripper Teeth: Both models come equipped with aggressive root rake ripper teeth built into the frame for handling rocks and logs.

REPLACEABLE BOLT-IN LINER

Save time by easily replacing the AR400 steel wear plates on the MX1160R without needing to remove the rotor.

ADJUSTABLE BELT TENSIONER

The adjustable belt tensioner ensures the proper tension of your belts, with no extra idler wheel that could wear out. Simply loosen the bolts and raise the motor mount to tighten the belt.

BELT TENSIONER ADJUSTMENT BOLTS

Belt tension adjustment can be made by fine-tuning the two puller bolts that move a sliding plate on which the motor is mounted.

BENT AXIS PISTON MOTORS ARE A STANDARD OPTION

Our industry leading bent axis piston motors make the most use of your hydraulic flow and pressure for your brush clearing needs.

WIRE PROTECTION KIT

If you are mulching and you catch some old fence wire, it can really cause damage to the unit if the wire slips over the edge of the rotor and gets wrapped around the shaft. The wire can get bunched against the bearings, causing major damage. Our wire protection kit contains a welded raised area on the end of the rotor that protects the shaft and prevents wire from getting in.

CHAIN CURTAIN

The rear of the unit is guarded by a 3/8” thick chain curtain so standing brush enters and mulched debris exits.

BITE LIMITING ROTOR FOR 11000 SERIES

The Depth Control system on the Baumalight 1100 series mulchers will improve the efficiency of your land-clearing operations. The 1100 series mulcher rotors are engineered to regulate the depth of bite and guide the flow of material while preserving energy for optimal output with less stalling because you can achieve consistent particle size for faster cutting, and better fuel efficiency.
The helical teeth arrangement of our mulcher effectively feeds material toward the center of the drum, while depth control rings guarantee the best possible infeed.

EASY ACCESS GREASE FITTINGS

Reduce your regular maintenance time by easily greasing the bearings on the MX1160R from outside the frame. No tools required.

OUTSIDE GREASE FITTING FOR ROTOR BEARINGS

Periodic regreasing of the rotor bearing is made easier with Outside grease fitting for rotor bearings.

OVERTORQUE PROTECTION - RELIEF VALVE

The relief valve protects the motor and the hydraulic system from pressure spikes. When an obstacle is hit the relief valves open and relieves the pressure.

REINFORCED BELT

A heavy duty reinforced belt delivers the force from the gear box to the rotor. This offers protection from the shocks inherent in mulching.

ADJUSTABLE EXCAVATOR MOUNTING OPTIONS

There are several adjustment holes for excavator mounting, providing a flexible mounting option for the comfort of the operator.

HOSE CLAMP

Designed specially to keep the hoses secure and prevents hose fittings from getting damaged.

MOVEABLE HOSE CLAMP COVER

In addition to the standard covers, a movable hose clamp cover is provided to allow for flexible hose routing dependent on the position of the customer's excavator hose connections.

ROOT RAKE TEETH

The MX1160R are equipped with a root rake for pushing fallen logs or other debris out of the way. These are replaceable bucket-style scrapper teeth.
