DESCRIPTION
The Turbo Turf HS-100-P Hydroseeder is a versatile 100-gallon pull-type unit designed for efficient seeding and lawn renovation projects. Featuring a clevis hitch and equipped with two 20 x 10.0 x 8 tires on demountable hubs, it is easily pulled by compact tractors, ATVs, or utility vehicles like the John Deere Gator. Powered by a reliable 4 H.P. Honda engine directly coupled to a high-volume 2" x 2" centrifugal pump, this hydroseeder delivers consistent performance for covering up to 1300 square feet per load.
PUMP
This unit used a 2″ x 2″ centrifugal pump with an output of –180 gallons a minute of flow and 42 P.S.I. of pressure. We have been using this pump for nearly 20 years and it has provided excellent performance and durability. The housing material is cast aluminum and it is easy to service and maintain. There are no grease fittings and the only maintenance required is to winterize if at the end of the season if it is stored where temperatures go below freezing. The pump impeller mounds on the end of the engine shaft so there is no power loss. Typically it can operate for 5 to 10 years with no maintenance. The only thing to be careful of is to not run it dry.
ENGINE
This unit comes with a 4 H.P. Honda recoil start engine. This has proved to be a very reliable engine with a long life. The engine has a two year warranty and service for the engine is available.
HOSE
This unit comes standard with 100 ft of 1 1/4″ I. D. hose. The hose we use is both strong and light weight. It is made from a poly material with a spiral reinforcement. Additional hose is available in 50 foot sections. The unit will handle up to 150 feet of hose.
OPERATION
This unit is easy to run. There are only two valves on the unit. The main mixing valve is opened fully when mixing and closed to a 45 degree angle in which case it is half open and half closed. This provides some mixing action but gives added spray power. There is also a valve going to the discharge hose. This is always fully open when spraying but can be closed to disconnect the discharge hose. The discharge hose is connected with a quick coupler. Should you need to go someplace to get water the hose can quickly be disconnected so when you have a new load mixed up you can connect the hose and start spraying right where you left off. It eliminates the need to wrap up the hose before you are finished.
TRANSPORT
The HS-100-P is a pull type unit that can be pulled behind a tractor ATV or utility vehicle. It is equipped with a clevis style hitch. It is not designed to be pulled on the road or at highway speeds. It is for off road use and is not highway legal.
