The RC12-10 automatic rope/chain windlass is built to effortlessly retrieve and deploy a 3/8 in. short link chain and 5/8" to 3/4 in. 8-Plait rope using Maxwell’s patented Wave Design™ chain wheel.
The RC12 is a highly versatile windlass offering multiple configurations (anti-clockwise, capstan, low profile, extended deck clearance, etc.) and is packed with patented features showcasing the very best of Maxwell engineering. The RC12 windlass range is suitable for boats ranging from 10m (30ft) to 20m (65ft) and has been designed and engineered to expertly balance aesthetics with rugged dependability.
The deck plate, chain pipe cover, heavy-duty pressure arm, stripper arm, chain wheel, and fluted capstan drum are all manufactured using marine-grade (AISI 316) stainless steel, which is x-rayed by Maxwell QC to ensure the chemical composition of the metal.
The through-deck hawse pipe ensures easy entry of the rope/chain rode into and out of the anchor locker, and the double cone-type brake/clutch mechanism permits ‘Free Fall’ anchoring. Cone clutches, unlike dog clutches, provide smooth progressive engagement, ensuring safe and precise operator control.
Emergency manual retrieval is made simple and easy with Maxwell’s unique "Active Latch Ratchet System" operation that prevents the backwind of the windlass during manual hauling of the anchor.
Features:
Activation of the ratcheted mechanism lever ensures the windlass cannot backwind during emergency (manual) retrieval of the rode (rope and/or chain) and anchor
The Gearbox Used on the RC12 Provides Several Advantages, Including:
Fast and easy windlass installation
More corrosion resistant
Easy to maintain and service
Takes up less room in the anchor locker
75:1 ratio, single stage design with fewer moving parts, for smoother and quieter operation
Allows for multi-positioning of the gearbox/motor

The chain stopper and alternative snubbing system should also be used to secure the anchor in the fully raised position while underway.
I've started using the mulcher I on several parcels of land 10 acres . I have grind down a couple of 14 inch stumps. Caution the mount bracket behind the mulcher motor exhaust gets extremely hot even with gloves on . But the unit so far seems to works very good it's well put together.
The Firminator G3 is s heavy duty quality machine. The discs worked extremely well and planting and culti-packing is very smooth and easy. Working with Dillon at Ripping It Outdoors was a very good experience and seamless transaction.
After spending way to much money for forest mulching services I discovered this wonderful machine. It's not a giant powerhouse forest mulcher, but it does everything a property owner needs to maintain a forested property. I wish I would have found it sooner.
The Firminator is well built and functions well. I am having some trouble while planting mixed size seeds. Next time out I’ll try setting it so only the smaller seeds drop out the open it up for the larger seeds.
easy buying process and great communication. Mulcher works great, easily clears overgrown brush and even mulched a 5" thick mulberry tree fairly easily. running it off of my old 331 bobcat with no problem powering the drum at all. Only small issue which isn't a big deal is that the supplied hoses are about 16" too short to operate a full range of motion.
Over all built well. I like it is all cast iron and metal and not plastic. Had to modify fertilizer disc mount to fit correctly, nothing major, a little grinding. I modified the center link hitch point to accommodate my John Deere quick hitch. Have yet to plant with it but I’m sure it will work perfect. Love the grease fittings everywhere. Reminds me of the old farm equipment I grew up on, and still use periodically.
My firminator RT was delivered in good condition in ND. I will be using it next week. I have a 45 HP John Deere tractor that is supposed to lift 2000 lb but really struggles to lift this 6 foot firminator RT. I will just have to use in as a two pass operation for now.
I do wish there was a better operating manual for this unit. Maybe that is something you can work on.
I will give you an update once I start using it in a few days.
Great piece of equipment. Performs far better than I expected. One piece of advice - if property is significantly overgrown, consider the tractor attachment first to bring down the over growth and then switch to the UTV attachment to maintain property. No complaints worked perfectly.
These are great feeders if you don’t have any feral hogs but if the hogs tear off the wiring harness from the timer to the feeder motor, you’re disabled. Then, if you ask for help from Outback, they refer you to the dealer but really you’re on your own for parts and repairs.
I have three Outback feeders that work as designed. They’re 13 years old and have always served well but this feeder misses the mark by a very high margin. I’d NEVER buy this product again.
Feeders need to be dependable and this unit is not.
This is my first experience with Ripping It Outdoors. Fortunately I got Dillion as a representative and everything from sales to shipping was spot on..
Thanks Dillion for your help!!
The only thing is when hooking up the actuator on my ATV. The wire is long going to the plug in. What has happened in the past about this. Is their video showing the usage of the control?
I had a guy from a shop come cut the shafts and hook me up. It went well. I've been using the mulcher and the tractor saw on my two tractors and having fun.
i love it, i'm a little inexperianced with it but i'll learn, i've never messed with chemicals much.
instead of putting it on an atv, i put it on a skid steer
We bought a 6' G3 last year and it worked well. We were missing the handle for seed adjuster on 1st one and they next day aired it. Just ordered an 8 ' model to go with it. Dillon is great to work with. Hope this one works out as well.
