DESCRIPTION

The SO High Dump Bucket is designed to address dump height challenges when loading materials like sawdust or woodchips. By allowing you to dump at a height of 13’6", it significantly improves loader efficiency. Here are some key features:

  • Unique Design: The bucket is carried by a log grapple and easily dumps from the fork tips.
  • Quick Transformation: You can convert your log grapple into an efficient loading machine by attaching the SO High Dump Bucket, eliminating the need for loading ramps or boom arm extensions.
  • Easy Installation: The bucket slips onto the log grapple and is ready to work in less than a minute.
  • Dumping Mechanism: Dumping is achieved by opening the clamp connected to the bucket via a dump link.
  • Robust Construction: SO High Dump Buckets are made entirely of high-strength alloy steels, ensuring durability and minimizing maintenance.
  • Dependable Performance: Each bucket is built to provide years of reliable service.

Keep in mind that the ability of the clamp to dump the bucket depends on load size and the cylinder size operating the clamp. If you have any specific requirements, consider adjusting the clamp cylinder size accordingly. Additionally, these buckets come with a warranty against defects in design, materials, or workmanship for two years or 4000 hours

SPECIFICATIONS

When it comes to dump buckets and their operation, the relationship between load size, cylinder size, and the ability to dump effectively is crucial. Let’s break it down:

  • Load Size: The weight and volume of the material you’re handling determine the load size. Heavier loads require more force to lift and dump.
  • Cylinder Size: The hydraulic cylinder(s) that operate the clamp play a significant role. Telescopic hydraulic cylinders are commonly used for dump trucks. They come in single-acting and double-acting configurations. Single-acting cylinders are cost-effective and low-maintenance, while double-acting cylinders offer versatility.
  • Calculations: To determine the right cylinder requirements, follow these steps:
    • Measure from the hinge of the dump body to the center of the load (usually near the middle of the dump body).
    • Measure from the hinge to where the cylinder connects to the dump body (this is the cylinder base point).
    • Multiply the load weight by the distance from hinge to load center. Divide the result by the distance from hinge to lifting point to find the initial force required.
    • As the cylinder extends, the necessary force decreases due to physics.
